School & Graduation Projects
Many people in students’ lives may be affected by breast cancer – this includes teachers, staff, administrators, students, parents, spouses, families, friends and more. Susan G. Komen Greater Pennsylvania welcomes the opportunity to work with area schools and students as they plan a school fundraiser or graduation project.
Whether students put on an event in celebration of current survivors or in memory of those who have lost their battle, it can give them the opportunity to come up with creative ways to contribute to the mission to end breast cancer. Planning and coordinating a fundraiser or awareness program not only benefits Komen Greater PA but is a great way for area students to fulfill their requirement for a school or graduation project while contributing back to a good cause.
School and graduation projects also afford schools and leagues the opportunity to:
- Increase attendance at sporting events
- Showcase school pride, unity and good sportsmanship
- Generate community and media interest in your school’s philanthropic pursuits
- Spotlight team players who exemplify stewardship
In addition, educational material and guest speakers can be provided to schools or planned events throughout the year.
